Stripping the Chassis

The result of a 9 hour day!  Bare Frame.

Rear end carrier, half shafts, and old struts...connected to the cross member.

All the major parts

Here's how the day began...

We started with the front suspension

Lots of pics for documentation purposes

Lots of undercoating and grease/grime on everything

Steering box has major undercoating and is leaking pretty bad

Spring compressor tool

First spring is out!

Onto the passenger side...

Marking/labeling (Rear Driverside, Front Driverside, Rear Passenger...)

Tie Rod puller: one of our specialty tools for breaking loose suspension components

Front-end complete.  A-Arms (upper & lower) are all removed.

Onto the rear.  Bushings are just disintegrated.

We dropped the 1 piece fiberglass mono-leaf

Documenting brakes

Disconnecting the parking brake

Trailing arm shims

Trailing arm shims

The end result after clean-up, and documenting everything.
Next up?  Do a full inventory of everything we'll need to order, and get the frame off to the media blasting.
